2003 US Grand National Scooter-Cross 
Lakeview, Ohio Season Opener Indian Lake Recreational Park

The 2003 US Grand National Scooter-cross Championships in association with Rec Motorsports will kick off the season with the first event in the town of Lakeview, Ohio, This will be the second trip to Indian Lake Watercross Shootout, on May 31st. Located 30 miles southeast of Lima, Ohio Indian Lake is a 5,800- acre lake that offers unlimited boating fun and recreation. The area is famous for year-round recreation; offering beaches, boating bicycle trails, hiking, hunting and other outdoor activities. The event will take place at beautiful Old Field Beach, which is a first class facility with over 1,200 feet of sandy beach.

This will be the 2nd Annual Go-Ped Race at Lakeview, Ohio. Get ready for some hot pavement racing action. Mike Flynn and the Rec Motorsports crew will bring their awesome jumps for some high flying Go-Ped action. Two years ago, Rec Motorsports had a super course layout which resulted in some really good racing action. Road-Rash will not be absent from this event.

Practice will start Saturday afternoon, with Racing to follow. More Details will be coming soon. This is a beautiful race site. There is plenty of parking, and also plenty of nice clean restrooms.

So, you will not want to miss this Event. Mark your calendars, and make Hotel Reservations early, they will fill up fast.

Camping: You are allowed to camp on site but there are only bathrooms and no showers. There will be a camping fee.

Directions to site:

Take I-75 to Wapakoneta Exit 110 and then go East on State Route 33.Take State Route 235 and go North. Go 1 ½ Miles and the park will be on the right hand side.

Directions to Hotels:

Take I-75 to Wapakoneta Exit 111 hotels right off exit.

Round 2 - June 28 , 2003
2003 US Grand National Scooter-cross Championships Pontiac Lake State Park - Waterford, Michigan

After a three-week break, the tour will, once again, make its annual stop at beautiful Pontiac Lake State Park in Waterford, Michigan, on June 28th, for Round 2 of the 2003 US Grand National Scooter-Cross Shootout.

Pontiac Lake State Park is located 30 minutes northwest of Detroit and is a hot spot of watercraft owners and racers. This site is regarded by many as the best site on tour. The pits are close, the beach is manicured and the park is beautiful. This site has played host to an IJSBA National Tour stop three times in previous years.

Participants can camp right in the pits and take advantage of all that the park has to offer. If you want to camp at any event this is the one do it at.

Round 2 of the 2003 US Grand National Championships will be extra special because the hot racing action will be under the lights. Yep, Night Go-Ped Racing at Pontiac, Michigan. Camp out, Grill some good Food, and while your enjoying your favorite beverage, watch some high-flying Go-Ped Racing. Stay tuned for more details coming soon.

Directions to Site:

Take I-75 to M-59 West. Take M-59 West approximately 11 miles to Williams Lake Road. (Note: M-59, Huron Road and Highland Road are all the same road) Turn Right on Williams Lake Road and the left on Gale Road. Pontiac Lake Recreation entrance is 1/2 mile on left.

Directions to Host Hotel:

Take I-75 to M-59 West. Take M-59 West approximately 10 miles till you pass Airport Road. (Note: M-59, Huron Road and Highland Road are the same road.) Concord Inn is on North side of M-59 right past airport (7076 Highland Rd). Concord Inn is only 1/2 mile from the site. Call today if you want to get a room there.

Important Information:

Great site but hotels are expensive. This is a great place to camp with bathrooms and showers. Please do not abuse the 4-wheeler privileges. And stay in the fenced in area designated for Watercross Participants. There are plenty of area Restaurants, and Hot Spots in nearby Waterford, Michigan.

The remaining Go-Ped series has been cancelled.  The Nashville Shores race has been cancelled.
